Student Trustee Christopher Enders

June 17, 2009

Christopher EndersCongratulations to Christopher Enders.

After having successfully been elected by the students of Grossmont College, Christopher was sworn in as Student Trustee last night at the District Governing Board Meeting amongst family and friends.

The primary responsibility of students who serve as Student Trustee is to represent the collective best interests of Grossmont College students and to advocate positions that benefit students before the District Governing Board.

The Student Trustee serves as the voice of approximately 20,000 students who attend Grossmont College which makes up the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District. The Governing Board is the policymaking body for the District. As such, it establishes policies on student fees, admissions criteria, remedial education, technology, financial aid, student parking, and numerous other areas that directly impact students. Serving as a Student Trustee presents a unique opportunity to influence higher education policy for one of the largest community college districts in California; it is the most influential office a student can hold within the District.

Christopher also serves as an executive on the ASGC board of directors; he was elected Comptroller.
