Service Organizations
ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF GROSSMONT COLLEGE, INC. (ASGC)
The Associated Students of Grossmont College, Inc. (ASGC, Inc.) is the official voice of the Grossmont College student body and is responsible for selecting students to serve on appropriate college councils, committees and task forces. The ASGC, Inc. makes recommendations to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and/or Vice President of Student Services regarding academic and extracurricular concerns of students. CIRCLE K
Our purpose as a student organization shall be to provide opportunity for students, staff, and community members to aid our community through volunteer services.
ROTARACT
Rotaract is a Rotary club-sponsored organization of young men and women whose purpose is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.
PHI THETA KAPPA HONOR SOCIETY (PTK)
To promote scholarship, community service, encourage social and cultural experiences, develop character and leadership abilities.
Departmental CALIFORNIA NURSING STUDENT ASSOC. (CNSA)
To contribute to the nursing education, provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interests and to aid in the development of persons in health care fields.
CARDIOVASCULAR TECHNOLOGY CLUB
To further the profession of Cardiovascular Technology, and enhance the field to all interested persons.
CERAMIC CITY CLAY CLUB
To enrich the educational process by expanding knowledge of the ceramic arts at Grossmont College and in the community.
CHILD DEVELOPMENT STUDENT ASSOC. (CDSA)
To provide a support network for Child Development students and act as advocates for the Early Childhood Development Program.
CULINARY ARTS CLUB
To help further our culinary educational as a liaison between school, community and industry and to help bring students together to create a strong comradery through enriching activities and fund raising as well as community outreach for charities and to provide scholarships for students.
EOPS
The purpose of this organization shall be to provide students an opportunity to participate in servicing the needs of Grossmont College’s disadvantaged student population.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY CLUB (OTA)
To stimulate interest and awareness in the profession of Occupational Therapy and provide a supportive network for OTA students.
PHOTO CLUB
To educate and enrich members in aspects of photography as a medium, and to support the instructional photography program.
RESPIRATORY THERAPY CLUB (RTC)
To further educational opportunities and promote R.T. as a profession.
SCULPTURE CLUB
The purpose of this club shall be for the promotion and appreciation of sculpture.
Ethnic BLACK STUDENT UNION (BSU)
The purpose of this organization shall be to develop the intellectual and moral character of the African-American student and to provide an ethnic academic awareness on the Grossmont College campus.
GERMAN CLUB
To provide students with a German atmosphere while promoting the German culture and language.
INTERNATIONAL CLUB
To form relationships among international students, assist in their orientation and development while attending Grossmont College, and learn about different cultures.
JAPAN CLUB
The purpose of the Grossmont College Japan Club is to spread, promote and advance the Japan culture at Grossmont College and in the San Diego area, create a network for all students at Grossmont College, and serve as a link between Grossmont College and Japan Companies, Universities and Associations.
PUENTE CLUB
To promote higher education within the Latino Community.
Religious CAMPUS CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP (Non-Denominational)
Will offer a loving and caring outreach to all those wishing to know about Jesus Christ and the Bible through Bible study, live worship, fellowship and outings.
FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES
To glorify our Lord Jesus Christ through fellowship, outreach and growth.
LDSSA
The purpose of this organization shall be to assist students in balancing their academic, social, cultural, and religious education.
Special Interest EARTH CLUB
Earth, animals, recycling, transportation, health.
MELODIA
The purpose of the organization shall be to support the Grossmont College Music Department by tutoring, mentoring, hosting master classes and clinic symposiums.
STEP-UP (Success Through the Education of Parents)
To serve as a support group for members. To raise the awareness of the needs and challenges of students who are parents. To disseminate information pertaining to issues affecting the Student Parent. To preserve the organization.
